Redmi Note series of smartphone brands have been the highest-selling mid-range smartphone in India for several years. Now the Vice President of Xiaomi Group, Lu Weibing has confirmed that global sales of the Redmi Note 8 series exceed 30 million units.
Xiaomi’s affordable brand Redmi has reason to celebrate today – reaching 30 million sales of the Note 8 line. These include Redmi Note 8 (and its sister Redmi Note 8T) and Redmi Note 8 Pro version, and both devices made it to the Top 10 smartphones sold in Q4 2019.
The good news was announced by Lu Weibing, brand manager of Redmi. He reminds that 1 million units are sold a month, in the next one sales reach up to 5 million when the phone goes global, 10 million milestones reach a quarter of a year and take 5 months to reach the staggering 20 million sales.
The lineup was announced on August 29 with the Redmi Note 8 Pro becoming the first official phone with a 64 MP camera but didn’t arrive for sale until September. Since then, Xiaomi has been pushing over 120,000 units daily, every day.
The numbers are likely to slow down in the foreseeable future, given the fact that the Redmi Note 9 line is already selling around the world, and time will tell if the new family’s management is left to beat the records of its predecessor.
